San Francisco Victorians

This painting of San Francisco Victorians depicts the famous row of “Painted Ladies” in Alamo Square. The fantastic architectural details, combined with light and shadow, provide a  dramatic 3-D effect that has always intrigued me.

I started with a one color serigraph to provide the line drawing, then painted two coats of gouache (opaque water color).  If you like to “stay between the lines”, then this painting is for you!

There are 7 small hearts in the bush in the lower left, and several more in the stained glass windows.

“San Francisco Victorians” was accepted into the “Carolina’s Got Art” exhibition in Charlotte, NC. – October, 2010

Medium: Original gouache (opaque water color) painting

Dimensions: 27″ x 18″

Price: $7500.  The painting is already framed.
