FIRST DAY OF SPRING

I saw this scene in Edgartown, Martha’s Vineyard.  I was working on it on the First Day of Spring. I am very pleased with the effect of the white pansies coming forward in contrast to the very dark background.  There are more than 20 hearts in this painting.

If you are familiar with my work, please note that areas are out of focus on purpose!  Am I finally “loosening up”?  Time will tell…
