Duke Chapel is a beautiful and inspiring presence on the West Campus of Duke University in Durham, NC.
This is one of four original gouache (opaque water color) paintings commissioned by the Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club. I hope you will be able to see these paintings on display the next time you are in Durham.
There is a great deal of detail in rendering the stone construction of the Chapel. Several hearts are visible in the trees.
